Research Overview

The Department has a long history of successful research solving both local and international challenges in the area of food safety and security. Over the years, the Staff at the department have enjoyed tremendous success with projects on dairy processing and safety, fruit and vegetables processing preservation and value addition, cassava and root crops, meat and meat products quality and safety improvement, coconut, processing and many more. The department also engages in extension activities that aid the communities, farmers, SMMEs from both from around beyond Egerton University.
